Blues in the Schools (BITS) has been a well-known institution since 1999. This residency program employs local and international music educators who bring the blues and related genres into Ottawa-area schools each spring. Emerging musicians then continue their journey through summer camps, year-round classes at the Bluesfest School of Music and Art, and specialized programs such as Be In The Band and She's The One (both supported by RBC Foundation) which allows students of all ages to discover and explore a lifelong relationship with the arts.

Many events charge order fees, and ours is no exception. But instead of maintaining a facility or going to a for-profit organization, the BITS Fund supports a registered non-profit charity that has a positive long-term impact on youth from all backgrounds.

Together, we are building a bright future for music in our city. Six dollars from each online order goes toward sustaining these community programs. Learn more about how we do good things together with your support!

Turns out mailboxes aren’t just for bills! Local Ottawa youth will lovingly label, package, and mail or courier your tickets this spring. Tickets are mailed on a rolling basis from May-June each year. Options include Canada Post - parcel ($7) or courier ($20). We are unable to courier to PO boxes.

We do not ship internationally. Will Call pickup instructions will be sent by email to purchasers outside of Canada closer to the festival date.
